GROWING OLD TOGETHER IS POSSIBLE
We have all seen marriages fail – our parents, our sisters, our brothers, our cousins our friends, perhaps even our own. Despite the marital despair we are often surrounded with, most of us continue to long for lasting love. We want to be the couple that still takes walks and holds hands after 70+ years of marriage. Look for those couples around you, and glean from those who are living this. Ask them for their wisdom and observe their witness.
Meet Paul Ngala 95 and Virginia Sato 88 of Kazuni Catholic Church in St. Cecilia Parish, Mzuzu Diocese Malawi. This couple has been in marriage for 71 years. This is a great witness that growing old together is possible. Their love, without words, was evident.
There is a rare beauty and treasure that can be only discovered and experienced by aging with grace in union with the one who God gave you to love till “death do us part.”
The couple gave me five eggs, what a precious gift from this poor and old couple. The only gift that I offered them was prayer! May God bless all married people! Growing old together is possible.
