
Mzuzu Diocese is very saddened to announce the death of Monsignor Albert Michael Muwowo of the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu who died on 17th February, 2020 after along illness.
Born on 3rd January, 1950 at Nyika in Rumphi
Was ordained priest on. 11th August 1985 at St Theresa Parish, Katete.
Was the Vicar General for 20 years, from 6th May 1995 to 15th January 2015. On 25th August 2018 he was installed the Monsignor at St. John’s Parish in Mzambazi.
Monsignor Michael has had the following appointments: St Theresa Parish Katete 11 August 1985; St Peters Cathedral from 27th May 1986. St Anne’s Parish Chilumba as parish priest from 1st October 1989; St Theresa Parish Katete as parish priest from 21st September 1994.
Qualities that are perceived as particular to him include:
Serious commitment to the priestly vocation, Holy mass prayer and recitation of the divine office; simple style of life with dedication to essential pastoral duties.
Not easily persuaded to things he does not believe in; neat, punctual and time conscious; reserved, disciplined, moderately conservative; rooted in tradition and culture; his sermons and homilies are concise with Theological content and embellished with local wisdom sayings
Burial will take place at Katoto Cemetery on 18 February 2020.
May God whom Monsignor Albert Michael Muwowo served through all his life time raise him up at the last day and may He give him kind admittance into his Glorious
Kingdom. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
